Alaska State Blueberry Pie Contest
Pie Judging Criteria
1. Presentation - 1 extra point if within the theme of the fair.
2. Texture of filling - Does it hold its form, or is it soupy.
3. Flavor and texture of crust - needs to be flakey not crumble.
4. Flavor of pie.
Pie Requirements for Blueberry Pies
1. Only Alaskan blueberries.
2. Pie must be covered at least 3/4 with crust.
3. Bring in a pie pan willing to part with.
Prizes
Grand prize is the gold pie pan, pie carrier and $50.
Second place will get a blueberry picture.
Third place $10 gift certificate to the drive-in.

Saturday, August 9th
- 12:30 - 12:45pm - Drop off pies at the Lion's Building.
- 12:45 - 1:45pm - Blind judging
- 2 - 2:30pm - Winners announced, prizes, and pies are auctioned.

This year we are joined by our winner from last year, Sarah Samuel, who will lead the Blueberry Pie Contest.

2. Bring in a pie pan willing to part with.
3. Must be all apples.
Prizes
Grand prize is the gold pie pan and chef's hat.
Second place prize is a custom cutting board.
Third place prize is an apron.

Pie Contest Lead
This is a new event this year, and is geared towards kiddos who want to show off their baking skills. This event will be run by Jennifer Smith this year.
